Government Health Schemes

1. Integrated MJPJAY & AB-PMJAY

This is the "Super Scheme" that combines the state’s Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana with the central government’s Ayushman Bharat.

  • Who is it for? All families in Maharashtra. It covers everyone—from Yellow and Orange ration card holders to White ration card holders and even those without a ration card (but with a Domicile Certificate).

  • Benefits: * ₹5 Lakh annual health cover per family on a "floater" basis (can be used by one or all members).

    • Cashless Treatment: Covers over 1,356 medical and surgical procedures across 34 specialties (Cardiology, Oncology, Nephrology, etc.).

    • Pre-existing Diseases: Covered from day one of enrollment.

       Accident Victims: Special "Category D" provides ₹1 Lakh per person for road accident stabilization and treatment.

2. Maternal and Newborn Care (JSSK & JSY)

These two schemes work together to ensure no mother or child suffers due to a lack of funds during birth.

  • Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK):

    • Who is it for? All pregnant women and sick newborns (up to 1 year of age) using government facilities.

    • Benefits: 100% Free deliveries (including C-sections), drugs, consumables, diagnostics (blood tests/ultrasounds), and free transport from home to hospital and back.

  • Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY):

    • Who is it for? Pregnant women from BPL (Below Poverty Line), SC, and ST families.

    • Benefits: A cash incentive for delivering in a hospital to cover incidental costs.

Rural: ₹700 | Urban: ₹600 | Home Delivery (BPL only): ₹500.

3. Mazi Kanya Bhagyashree

Focused on the health, education, and welfare of the girl child.

  • Who is it for? Families residing in Maharashtra with an annual income up to ₹7.5 Lakh, who have one or two girls and have undergone a family planning procedure.

  • Benefits: * The state deposits ₹50,000 for one girl child (or ₹25,000 each for two girls) in a bank.

  • The girl receives interest at age 6 and 12, and the full matured amount (approx. ₹1 Lakh+) at age 18 for her education or health.

  • Includes ₹1 Lakh accident insurance for the girl and her mother.

4. Nikshay Poshan Yojana (TB Support)

  • Who is it for? Every patient diagnosed with Tuberculosis (TB) and registered on the government’s Nikshay portal.

Benefits: A monthly payment of ₹500 directly into the patient's bank account for the entire duration of the treatment to help with nutritional needs.

5. Mukhyamantri Vayoshree Yojana

Launched in early 2024, this scheme is designed to help senior citizens live a more independent and dignified life by providing financial aid for medical equipment.

  • Who is it for?

    • Senior citizens aged 65 years and above.

    • Permanent residents of Maharashtra.

    • Families with an annual income of less than ₹2 lakh.

    • Note: 30% of the beneficiaries under this scheme are reserved for women.

  • Benefits:

    • ₹3,000 One-time Payment: A lump sum amount is deposited directly into the beneficiary's bank account (via DBT).

    • Medical Aids: This money is specifically intended to help seniors buy assistive devices such as:

      • Spectacles (glasses)

      • Hearing aids

      • Walkers or walking sticks

      • Cervical collars or lumbar belts

      • Wheelchairs or commode chairs

    • Mental Wellness: It also encourages participation in yoga and mental health centers to maintain overall well-being.

  • Offline: By visiting the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare in your district.
